Paddle House Museum
The museum is a showcase of a traditional fishing family’s home in the early part of the 20th century. Built in 1909, by William Paddle, the Paddle House served as his home in two different locations. Originally built in Port Elizabeth, it was moved in the 1960's resettlement to Red Harbour. Resettlement is a deep and divisive part of Newfoundland history, uprooting more than 20,000 people in the outports of Newfoundland. Visit the Paddle House to learn about the traditions, skills and resilience of the outport people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
